1980s

Bruce McConnell ’86, former CFO/VP Finance and a Texas CPA (license inactive), with over 35 years of real-world accounting experience, has become the owner of Montgomery County Bookkeeping, a bookkeeping service for small businesses. 


1990s

Congratulations to Dr. John Parker ’94 for joining PeriGen, a perinatal software solutions company that enhances clinical efficiency and standardization of care during childbirth, as their Chief Medical Officer.  


Congratulations, Trey Watts ’95, for being promoted to the Senior Vice President of Sales at ECFX. 


George Levesque

Congratulations, George Levesque ’96, for receiving the 2023 Outstanding Individual Contribution award at the League of Historic American Theatres conference in Kansas City for his work in the Paramount Theatre in Abilene! ⁠This award was given out based on The Paramount’s growth observed, Covid-19 response, new programming, and recent changes and preservation they have done in the historic Paramount. 


Jincy Drennan Ross ’96 just became the new Coordinator of Certification for Region 11. She will work with aspiring teachers, principals, and superintendents to help get them certified and placed in districts.  


Roby CISD welcomes the new 5th and 6th-grade ELAR/Social Studies Teacher, Michelle Ellison ’98. 


Jason Baxter, CPA ’99, is the new Fractional Controller at Stockman Kast Ryan & Co. 


2000s

Jenifer B. King, MA ’00 has started a new position as a Managing Partner at Moyer & Associates Healthcare Consulting Services.  


Brian Becton

Brian Becton ’01 enters a new role as president of the Becton Insurance Agency after joining the family-owned business in 2006.  

Becton obtained his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation in 2017. Under his guidance, Becton Insurance Agency acquired Sims-Perrin Insurance Agency in Lubbock, Texas, this past January. Becton has been married to his wife, Ashley, for 19 years, and they are blessed with three girls: Kyleigh (15), Kynslie (12), and Kambryn (9).  

Becton plans to continue providing reliable, trusted insurance in the family-owned & operated agencies. 


Hope Pamplin

Hope Pamplin, Ph.D., LPC-S ’01, has joined Leadership Huston Class XLII. Leadership Huston brings leaders from different communities to increase dialogue and foster collaboration on projects that would improve the quality of life for all Houstonians.


Corporate Services at Marathon Petroleum Corporation has promoted Yvonne Mungia ’02 to Advanced Senior Recruiter in the company. 


April West

Shamrock Elementary School has brought on April West ’03 as their new 4th-grade ELA and Social Studies teacher. 


Staci Patyrak ’04 has started a new position at TouchPoint Software as an Associate Business System Analyst. 


Congratulations to Trey Cox ’06 on being appointed Inside Sales Coordinator at Sovereign Pipe Technologies.  


Congratulations to Bonnie Schneider ’06 on being named Senior System Engineer at Lockheed Martin, Fort Worth, Texas. 


Nicholas Ramirez ’07 has started a new position as Business Development Manager at Burns & McDonnell in the DFW Metroplex.   


Jakob McKeel ’09 has become a Government Civilian at D.O.D., in addition to currently working as a Cybersecurity intern at Itron, working as part of the InfoSec Auditing Team, while he is finishing up his degree in cybersecurity at the University of Texas at San Antonio.  


Matthew Puls ’09 has been appointed as an Account Executive at Delaget. 


Congratulations, Stephanie Robinson, MBA, MSML ’09, for starting a new position as CMO Supervisor at the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services in Abilene, TX.  


2010s

Congratulations to Rhyn A. Cason ’10 for being named the Director of Project Management at ILC Dover in the Greater Savannah, Georgia Area.  


Patty Coleman

Patty Coleman ’10 married on October 8, 2022, and started as a 1st grade teacher at Moore Public School. 


Congratulations to Kerry Goff ’10 for accepting a position with the University of Houston in the Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts, where he serves as the Senior Director of Venue Management and Production Services. 


Benjamin Stephens ’10 has become an Inside Sales Representative at McGraw-Hill. 


Congratulations, Albina Ahearn ’11, on starting a new position as a Realtor of Albina Ahearn LLC.  


Lindsey Lowry

Lindsey Lowry ’11 has served as the Assistant Principal of Honey for the past three years and is excited to step into this new role as the Principal of Honey Elementary School in Lubbock ISD. Lowry’s youngest son, James, arrived in the Fall. Lindsey and her husband, Lane, have recently celebrated ten beautiful years of marriage. 


Congratulations to Nikiki Walls ’11 for becoming the Data Specialist, overseeing the development of new databases, monitoring database performance, interpreting raw data, and turning it into usable feedback and applications at the University of North Texas at Dallas.  


Congratulations to Justin Beall ’12 for becoming Director of Midstream Operations, West Texas at Delek Logistics Partners in Big Spring, TX.  


Dianne Haws ’12 has become the Executive Director for The Walter Hive, an organization that teaches kids and adults life skills through the arts. 


Congratulations, Brandi Rougeux ’12, for starting a new position as Program Manager, Behavioral Health Patient Safety at Texas Health Resources. 


Quinton Smith ’12 has become the Senior Community Fundraising Manager for the Houston Texans.

McMurry welcomed Rev. Ricky Harrison ’14 back to campus to succeed Marty CashBurless ’78 as University Chaplain in August 2023.  


Congratulations, Tyler Arellano ’15, for starting a new position as National Account Manager at Atlas Crane Service, Inc. 


Kathleen Garvin ’17 has started a new position as the Lead Payroll Specialist at NorthStar Recovery Services. 


Izjia Jefferson ’17 has started a new position as the Monitoring and Outcomes Manager at TFL, Inc. 


Lauren Bridwell

After nearly five years on McMurry’s Division of Institutional Advancement staff, Lauren Bridwell ’19 will begin a new position at Colorado College as the Associate Director of Planned Giving.


Mariah Fusco

McMurry has brought Mariah Fusco ’19 back to campus as our new Director of Student Activities and Orientation in the summer of 2023.  


Clarissa Walls

Clarissa Walls ’19 has joined the Navy and has done two deployments in the South China Sea.  


2020s

Abigail Lally ’20 has become Lotus Consulting Firm, Inc.’s CEO in Orlando, Florida.  


Juan Ramirez

Congratulations to Juan Ramirez ’20, who graduated with his Master of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. ⁠Like his Bachelors from McMurry, he finished his Masters with a perfect 4.0. 


Calista Flores

Calista Flores ’21 graduated with her master’s in Human Development & Family Science in May 2023. She loves working for non-profits and thanks Jori Sechrist ’01 for positively impacting her life.  


Carly Kantrowitz ’21 will graduate with her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Creighton University on May 8, 2024.  


NextHome, Inc. welcomes Derrick Ray ’21 as a Sugar Land, TX real estate agent.  


Cameo Splain

Congratulations to Cameo Splain ’22 for her recent marriage to Ben Splain. 


Congratulations to Tristyn Fambrough ’22 for being appointed Health Insurance Advisor at Fambrough Insurance Group in Fort Worth, TX. 


Logan Herring

Logan Herring ’22 traveled with the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp International Program, teaching music lessons to students aged 13-19. While doing this, Herring performed as a soloist in front of sold-out crowds in France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Germany (pictured). Herring has now entered a full-time trombone position with the Salina Symphony Orchestra. 


Heather Cairns

Recent graduate, Heather Cairns ’23, began her first year teaching music at Bonham Elementary School! 


Kelton Wehrman

Recent graduate, Kelton Wehrman ’23, began his teaching career as the Theatre Director at Cavasos and Atkins Middle School. He was also cast as Max in The Play That Goes Wrong at Lubbock Community Theatre. He performed for sold-out crowds during the show’s run.
