Campus in Bloom

Thanks to the generosity of anonymous donors, the McMurry campus has been transformed into an even more welcoming and visually inspiring space. A recent beautification project added vibrant new flowerbeds, upgraded landscaping, and elegant signage across key areas of campus. The project, completed this fall, reflects the shared pride and commitment of alumni, friends, and community supporters who continue to invest in the student experience and the university’s long-term vitality.

The beautification initiative is part of a larger effort to enhance campus visibility and create an environment that reflects the excellence and spirit of the university community. With donor support, the university identified high-traffic areas that would benefit most from new greenery and improved signage. The result is a campus that looks more polished and feels more inviting to current students, prospective families, and visitors alike.

“One of the first things people notice when they come to campus is how it looks and feels,” President Dr. Lynne Murray said. “Our donors recognized that a beautiful campus not only inspires pride among current students, but also plays an important role in attracting future generations. Their generosity will have a daily impact for years to come.”

The new construction frames the campus with prominent McMurry signage at the northeast corner of South 14th Street and Ross Avenue and the southwest corner of Hunt Street and Sayles Boulevard. Two McMurry pillars with landscaping, irrigation, and lighting have been placed at the main entrance of the campus leading towards the Maedgen Administration Building, Radford Auditorium, and the Garrison United Methodist Campus Center. Landscaping, lighting, and irrigation were also added on Sentinel Drive and Sayles Boulevard.

The beautification project reflects the impact of thoughtful planning and generous support. New flowerbeds, lighting, and signage add color and warmth to campus and help create a more welcoming environment for students, employees, and visitors.

As the landscaping takes root and matures in the seasons ahead, donor support will continue to enhance the campus experience in visible and lasting ways.
