McMurry University announces its third-highest consecutive year of fundraising, culminating in the highest-ever contributions to the McMurry Fund. In the 2023-2024 fiscal year, the McMurry Fund received $938,000, marking the largest annual fund in McMurry’s 100-year history.
“Breaking records means changing more lives,” said Serayah Peters, director of annual giving. “As we celebrate historic levels of philanthropic generosity, our students and faculty can aim higher, soar further, and continue to thrive. The numbers are exciting, but McMurry’s story is about so much more.”
The McMurry Fund is made up of unrestricted support that helps deliver the institution’s signature liberal arts experience to students every year. Contributions to the McMurry Fund in fiscal year 2024 came from 561 alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends, demonstrating the widespread commitment to McMurry’s mission.
The McMurry Fund’s success comes on the tail of a record-setting 9th-annual Giving Day on April 9, when more than 225 donors gave over $125,000 to the University in 24 hours.
“We are still feeling the rush of an exciting and memorable centennial year,” said McMurry President Dr. Sandra S. Harper. “From our largest-ever Homecoming to record-breaking enrollment and the completion of the Garrison United Methodist Campus Center, the momentum McMurry is experiencing as we enter our second century is a result of the incredible engagement and support from our McMurry community.”
McMurry alumni and friends play a critical role in ensuring the McMurry experience is attainable for our students. Together, we are continuing to deliver an education that is shaped by Christian principles, challenges students to examine our complex world from multiple perspectives, and prepares them for lives of leadership, service, and professional success.
