George Levesque ’96
After nearly nine years at the Historic Paramount Theatre and 27 years of radio and television broadcasting, George Levesque ’96 is leaving the Big Country and heading to Tampa, Florida, to become the president and CEO of the historic Tampa Theatre.
Christina Sharpling ’96
Christina Sharpling ’96 retired from The University of Texas at Dallas on Dec. 31, 2025, after more than 27 years in the Office of Human Resources. Fellow alumni Aricia Grant ’92, Marco Mendoza ’00, and Karen Chronister ’96 attended her retirement celebration.
Hiawatha Hickman ’99
Hiawatha Hickman ’99, head football coach at West Orange-Stark High School, led the team to the 2025 Class 4A Division II state championship game, where the Mustangs finished as runners-up.
Frances Arias ’07
After two years working at McMurry University, Frances Arias ’07 transitioned to the role of senior manager of special projects at the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, where she promotes and advances suicide prevention, saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide.
Jon-Thomas Pierce ’10
Jon-Thomas Pierce ’10 is celebrating three years of marriage to his childhood crush, whom he has loved since he was 13 years old.
David Willis ’11
David Willis ’11 began his teaching and coaching career in Abilene at Madison Middle School after graduation and now teaches BIM and coaches football and baseball at Midland Freshman High School.
Kenna Cornelius ’13
Kenna Cornelius ’13 will begin a new job as the executive director of student involvement and engagement at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, in late June. Previously, Kenna served in the Division of Student Affairs at Mizzou, where she also earned her Juris Doctor in 2025.
Beckett Medford ’19
Beckett Medford ’19 is working in El Paso, Texas, as the lead athletic trainer for 2nd Brigade under the U.S. Army’s Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) program at Fort Bliss. While in El Paso, he also met and married his wife, Edith.
Eva Pourcio ’20 and Nick Hamel ’20
Eva Pourcio ’20 and Nick Hamel ’20 were married in June 2024. They have two children, Violet, 3, and Van, 8 months. Nick teaches high school math and coaches varsity baseball.
Michael Stevens ’21
Michael Stevens ’21 began his teaching and coaching career immediately after graduating from McMurry University and continues to work in education and athletics. He recently married and welcomed a daughter with his wife, whom he met during his time at McMurry.
Summer Schneider ’23 and Sean Mooney ’21
Summer Schneider ’23 and Sean Mooney ’21 were married Nov. 8. Schneider was a sweetheart of HEI, and Mooney was a member. Their officiant, Mike Stephens, also served as a sponsor of HEI at the time.
Tana Thomas ’26
Tana Thomas ’26 graduated May 9, and then started a job at McMurry in the Office of Strategic Communications and Marketing as the digital media specialist on May 11.
Garrison Shin ’26
Garrison Shin ’26 will start graduate school at Texas A&M University in the fall to begin chasing his goal of becoming the governor of Texas.
