From the Director for Alumni Engagement

As we reflect on an exciting and meaningful spring semester at McMurry University, I am reminded once again of the incredible strength of the McMurry community and the lasting impact our alumni continue to make across the world.

This spring, during our Spring Alumni Weekend, we had the privilege of celebrating the recipients of the McMurry Alumni Achievement Awards at the Night of Distinction. These nine outstanding individuals exemplify the values and spirit of McMurry University through their leadership, service, professional accomplishments, and dedication to making a difference in the lives of others. Their achievements remind us of the enduring foundation built during their time on our campus and the ways in which McMurry alumni continue to lead with purpose and integrity.

The McMurry Alumni Association Board of Directors also gathered for an impactful meeting. We were honored to welcome Dr. Lynne Murray, president of McMurry University, who shared her vision and encouragement for the future of our institution. Board members also heard updates from campus leaders representing Religious Life, Academic Affairs, Admissions, and Student Affairs, providing insight into the many exciting developments taking place at McMurry.

During the meeting, we welcomed Isaiah Core ’18 as a new member of the Alumni Association Board of Directors. At the same time, we expressed our sincere gratitude to several board members whose terms of service have concluded: Sarah Bodner ’96, Jeff Matsler ’89, Dr. Ken Wheeler ’10, Marcy Stueve ’12, Dorian Block ’15, Israel Robledo ’87, and Mikayla Spivey ’17. Their dedication, leadership, and love for McMurry have helped strengthen the connection between the university and its alumni, and we are deeply grateful for their service.

Another special highlight of the spring semester was our annual Senior Toast held on May 1. This cherished tradition celebrates our graduating seniors as they prepare to become the newest members of the McMurry Alumni Association. Together with their family members, guests, faculty, and staff, we toasted their accomplishments, honored their time at McMurry, and celebrated the exciting futures that await them. It was a joyful evening filled with pride, reflection, and anticipation for all that lies ahead for the Class of 2026.

As we look ahead, we are already preparing to welcome our alumni back home for Homecoming 2026, which will be held November 6–8. We look forward to welcoming you back to campus for the many festivities that celebrate our common bond — our love for McMurry University.
