McMurry’s Dual-Credit Academy Opens Doors for Texas Students
For many high school students, college can feel financially, academically, or emotionally out of reach. Through McMurry University’s Dual Credit Academy (DCA), students across Texas are earning college credit while still in high school and gaining early exposure to college-level course work through partnerships with local school districts.
Since launching statewide partnerships, the DCA has seen strong momentum, including a 50% increase in enrollment from 2024 to 2025, with continued growth expected. McMurry has built a model that combines college-level coursework, flexible online delivery, and strong student support.

Massey also noted long-term benefits, including earlier college completion and cost savings. “In some cases, they’re able to roll straight into a master’s program, which is a huge time and money-saving advantage,” she said.
Across programs, schools also note benefits for teachers who serve as adjunct instructors and receive stipends for teaching McMurry-approved coursework.
The Dual Credit Academy has become an important part of McMurry’s enrollment strategy. Each year, students who first experience college-level coursework through the program choose to continue their education at McMurry, turning early college credits into the first steps toward a bachelor’s degree.
